You will traverse and marvel at the captivating landscape, trek through the jungles to meet the primates and enjoy drives through the vast Savannah plains to see enormous wildlife species including the big five in their un spoilt habitats. Detailed 15 Days Uganda Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and transfer to your hotel for overnight.
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by our driver guide or hotel driver who will drive you to the hotel. Overnight at Protea hotel (luxury)/ 2 Friends hotel (deluxe) BB
Day 2: Transfer to L. Mburo NP (3-4hrs drive)
In the morning, you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park popular for its zebras and impalas that are not common in other parks in this country other than here and Kidepo valley NP. Upon arrival, take a game drive around to see zebras, impalas, elands, topis, buffaloes, giraffes, warthogs among others before retiring to your lodge. Overnight at Mpogo lodge / Rwakobo Rock lodge (deluxe)/ Mihingo lodge (luxury). FB
Day 3: Nature walk and afternoon boat cruise on L. Mburo
In the morning, you will go for a nature walk to the salt lick for wildlife viewing opportunities. Have a good time at the viewing platform as you take good photos of animals licking the salty rocks un aware of your presence. You will then return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the lake anticipating to see hippos and a shoe bill. Overnight as at Day 2
Day 4: Transfer to L. Bunyonyi. (3-4 hours drive)
In the morning, you may go for a cultural tour at Mpogo lodge to participate in hand milking and learn about the local Ghee making process as you are taken through the Ankore traditional cultural practices to learn a lot about their way of life and their strong bond with the Ankore long horned cattle. On return, you will drive south to L. Bunyonyi with a stop at Igongo cultural center that exhibits the history and culture of the Ankole kingdom. Upon arrival at L. Bunyonyi, take a boat to the island. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Eco resort
Day 5: Boat cruise to the Batwa village
In the morning, you will go for a boat cruise to the Batwa village and explore this magnificent lake that has several islands. The islands here are home to a plethora of bird species which may fascinate you. Overnight at Bunyonyi Eco resort hotel.
Day 6: Nature walk and Transfer to Bwindi National park (1-2hrs drive)
In the morning, you will go for a nature walk on this island to see some zebras and antelopes. You will then transfer northwards to Bwindi NP. Overnight at Mahogany Springs / Agandi Eco lodge(luxury)/ Bakiga lodge (deluxe)/ Trekkers’ Tavern cottage (budget)
Day 7: Gorilla Tracking and community walk.
In the morning, you will gather at the park headquarters for briefing and gorilla family allocation, and proceed straight into the forest to search for the gentle giants. You will be allowed one hour to stay in the presence of the gorillas, as you observe and take photographs. In the evening, you may go for a cultural walk to the Batwa pygmy village to learn about their culture. Dinner and overnight at your lodge (day 6).
Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. (4-5hrs drive of transfer time)
In the morning, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth NP with en route game viewing in Ishasha sector in search for the tree climbing lions and proceed to the upper part of the park for a community tour to the Katwe Kabatooro community to explore the salt mines and observe the traditional salt mining process. Overnight and dinner at Mazike lodge / Katara lodge (luxury) / Park View hotel (deluxe)/Enganzi lodge (budget/deluxe)
Day 9: Game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel
In the morning after a cup of coffee, hit the Kasenyi track to catch up with early raisers and the cats as they return from the night hunt. Plenty of wildlife in this area may captivate you on this early game drive. You will return to your lodge for a late breakfast and lunch before going for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel for more game viewing opportunities. The channel is a great hub for wildlife gathering especially during hot afternoons as elephants, buffaloes, kobs and many other animals come to drink water. The channel’s permanent residents like hippos and crocodiles are some of the most common sightings. Overnight as at Day 8.
Day 10: Transfer to Kibale forest NP (2-3hrs drive)
In the morning, will transfer to Kibale Forest NP and visit the crater lakes of Ndali and Kasende. If time allows, in the evening, you may go for a nature walk in the Bigodi wetland for primate viewing. Overnight and dinner at Crater Safari lodge/ Papaya Lake lodge / Kyaninga lodge (luxury)Turaco Tree Tops(deluxe) / Chimpanzee guest house (budget)
Day 11: Chimpanzee tracking
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for
briefing before you proceed to track man’s closest relative of all the apes. Once you reach the chimps, you will be allowed to stay with them for not more than 1hr before returning to your lodge for lunch and have the rest of the day at leisure. You may talk to your guide for a tour in Fort portal town. Overnight at Day 10
Day 12: Transfer to Murchison Falls NP (7-8hrs drive)
In the morning after breakfast, you will set off to Murchison Falls National park via Masindi reaching in the evening. Your long drive will be spiced up by en route stop overs for sightseeing. The magnificent rift valley escarpment and the beautiful views of L. Albert adorned with fishing boats will be a great spectacle on this long journey. Dinner and overnight at Kabalega Wilderness Resort (luxury)/ Pakuba lodge (deluxe) /Red Chilli lodge (budget).(9-10 hours drive)
Day 13: Game drive and boat cruise.
In the morning, you will go for a morning game drive to the northern part of the park where most of the big mammals dwell. You are likely to see big mammals like lions, buffaloes, elephants, and the elusive leopard if you are lucky. Other mammals like the kobs, gazelles, hartebeests, topis and other antelope species are some of the most common sightings on a game drive. Return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon, go for boat cruise up to the bottom of the falls, which will reward you with views of hippos, crocodiles and a number of water birds. The views of the mighty falls may crown your day’s experience. Dinner and overnight (Day 12).
Day 14: Visit top of the falls and transfer back to Kampala or Entebbe.
In the morning, set off to Kampala/Entebbe with en route visit to the top of the falls to see arguably the strongest water falls in the world where the water squeezes though a 7 meters canyon before plunging down about 42 meters deep into the devil’s caldron, producing a thunderous roar and a rainbow. You will then proceed to have another stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongora, for rhino tracking. Proceed to Kampala or Entebbe, reaching in the evening.
