A great vacation spot, off the beaten track, Uganda’s wildlife destinations including Murchison Falls, Kibale forest, Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo national parks, are perfect for an ideal African safari.

Detailed 10 days Uganda Safari Itinerary
Day 1. Arrival and transfer to your hotel
Upon arrival, our tour guide will welcome and brief you at the airport before transferring you to the hotel. Overnight at Savannah Suites (budget)/ 2 Friends hotel (deluxe)/ Protea hotel (luxury)
Day 2: Transfer to L. Mburo NP
In the morning, you will be picked from your hotel and driver southwestwards to L. Mburo NP with a mini stop at the equator for photographs. Upon arrival, go for an afternoon boat cruise on L. Mburo anticipating to see some hippos, crocodiles and some water birds and later return to check in at your lodge. Overnight at Mpogo lodge / Rwakobo Rock lodge(deluxe)/ Mihingo lodge/ Kigambira Safari lodge (luxury)
Day 3: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi NP
Begin this morning with a game drive in search for zebras, elands, giraffes, buffaloes, waterbucks, topis among others and if luck is on your side, a leopard may cross your way. You will later transfer further south to Bwindi NP, arriving in the evening. Overnight at Trekkers’ Tavern cottages (budget)/ Bakiga lodge (deluxe)/ Agandi Eco lodge/ Mahogany Springs (luxury)
Day 4: Gorilla Tracking and community visit
After breakfast converge at the park headquarters for briefing and gorilla group allocation. In a group of 8 trackers, you will be led by a game ranger in a company of several porters to a gorilla group specified on the permit earlier secured for you. Upon encountering the gorilla family, you will be allowed an hour to view and take photographs before returning to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Afternoon activities including a community walk may be organized for you. Dinner and overnight as previously organized at your lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
In the morning, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth NP with en route game viewing in Ishasha sector for the tree climbing lions. Later proceed to Mweya Safari Lodge for lunch as you get ready for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. This natural 32 Km (20 Mi) long channel joins the 2 lakes – lake George in the East whose overall depth is 2.4 Metres and a 250 Sq Km stretch into lake Edward (2000 Sq Km) in the West.
The banks of Kazinga Channel attract big numbers of mammals and birds. Expects big mammals including hippos, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, etc. Both migratory and savanna birds are quite in big numbers along this channel. Dinner and an overnight stay at Katara Game lodge /Enganzi lodge (budget/deluxe)
Day 6: Game drive and transfer to Kibale
After a morning cup of coffee, hit the Kasenyi track to catch up with early raisers including the cats as they return from the night hunt. Plenty of wildlife in this area may captivate you on this early morning game drive. On return you will transfer to Kibale with en route visit to the crater lakes region of Ndali and Kasende.
In the evening you may go for a nature walk in the Bigodi wetland for primate and bird watching. Proceed to check in at Chimpanzee guest house (budget)/ Turacco Tree tops (deluxe)/ Papaya lake lodge/ Crater Safari lodge (luxury).
Day 7: Chimpanzee tracking
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for briefing before you proceed to track man’s closest relative of all the apes. After tracking, return to the lodge for lunch and have the rest of the day at leisure. You may talk to your guide for a tour in Fort portal town. Overnight as at Day 6
Day 8: Transfer to Murchison Falls NP
This day is for a long drive to Murchison Falls National park via Masindi. The 361 Km distance from Kibale Forest to Murchison Falls national park can now take between 4 to 5 hours as the murram road has over time been upgraded. The picturesque drive along the banks of Lake Albert offers beautiful and very scenic view of the Western Rift Valley.
Dinner and overnight at Kabalega Wilderness lodge (luxury)/Pakuba lodge (deluxe/ luxury) /Red Chilli lodge (budget).(7-9 hours drive)
Day 9: Game drive and boat cruise
Enjoy a morning game drive in the northern part of the park to catch a glimpse of some fascinating wildlife species. Expect to encounter lions, jackals, leopard if you are lucky and many other mammals including buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeest, topi, elephants, giraffes among others. Return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon go for boat cruise up to the bottom of the mighty falls for sightseeing and a chance to see crocodiles, hippos and some bird species. Dinner and overnight as on Day 8.
Day 10: Murchison Falls NP to Kampala/ Entebbe for departure
After breakfast transfer back to Kampala with an en route visit to the top of the falls for sight seeing. You may track rhinos in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongora if it is part of your safari package.
Depending on return flight schedule, you tour guide will transfer you straight to Entebbe International Airport for an evening check-in flight.
