The 7 days Tanzania Wildebeest Migration Safari is one of our best selling packages. The wildebeests (gnus) are related to gazelles and oryxes. A wildebeest weighs up to 600 pounds (270 kilograms) with a maximum height of 2.4 meters. Wildebeests occupy the open woodlands and savannah grasslands of the Serengeti and Masai Mara plains. Over 1.5 million wildebeests keep migrating into both countries following the May or June rainy season. This migration phenomenon is recognized as one of the ‘Seven Wonders of the Natural World’. The wildebeests migration in search for greener pastures risks a float of crocodiles in the various rivers that prey on them mercilessly.
Explore the towering hills and endless plains of the Serengeti with its enormous wildlife population and crown your experience with a visit to the famous Ngorongoro crater; the largest unbroken and unflooded caldera in the world with jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking animal population. The Ngorongoro crater has a myriad of habitats that is responsible for an ever-present pleasant number of wildlife species. The habitat ranges from swamps, grasslands, forests to salty lakes.
The 7 days Tanzania Wildebeest Migration safari experience is best done in (July to September). You may be lucky to catch the early phase of the animal migration as wildebeests, zebras, elands and gazelles move to the western corridor of the park in the April-May period of the year.
