The 6 days northern Tanzania safari gives you an exciting experience for a lifetime as you traverse through Tarangire, one of the more recently established wildlife sanctuaries in Tanzania, covering some 4,160 sq. km. During the dry season (July to October), the Tarangire River is the main water source in the region and it attracts large concentrations of animals from the surrounding Masai Steppes. Serengeti National Park which is a World Heritage Site with over 20,000 mammals and over 500 birds species. The park also hosts the great wildebeest migration every year where travellers get a chance to see millions of wildlife moving at once. Finally the safari includes a visit to the Ngorongoro conservation area which is the world’s largest caldera and inhabiting over twenty thousand animals within the rims of the crater.

6 Days Northern Tanzania Safari detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at the airport and transfer to the Hotel/Lodge
Upon arrival time, you will be met, greeted and later transferred to your hotel for check-in and refreshments as you prepare for the next day.
Day 2: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
After an early morning breakfast prepare for the drive to Tarangire National Park as much of the day will be spent on a Game drive. The park is known for its enormous herds of elephants, ancient baobab trees, and having the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti. During the dry season (June-Sept), animals flock from hundreds of miles to drink from the Tarangire River. Arrive at the Tarangire Safari Lodge in time for dinner.
Day 3: Drive to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast take a game drive en route to Serengeti National Park, a world heritage site, stopping along the way to watch animals you may encounter. Renowned for its wealth of lions and leopards, the Serengeti is the quintessential safari destination. Derived from the Maasai word ‘sirinetu’ meaning ‘endless plains’, the Serengeti plays host to more than a million wildebeest, 200,000 zebra, and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle during the annual migration
Day 4: Full day Serengeti National Park Exploration
Wake up early morning for breakfast and later drive to the plains of Serengeti National Park with a full day exploration while examining one of the oldest ecosystems on earth. Serengeti over the past million years, you will still find the renowned plains intermingled with wooded hills, massive termite mounds, rocky kopjes, and acacia tree lined rivers. Depending on the time of year you will be able to witness the Wildebeest Migration.
Day 5: Transfer from Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro crater Area
Wake up for an early morning game drive and later return to camp in time for breakfast. Proceed with another game drive until lunch and then head to the Ngorongoro Crater. You may also opt for a visit en-route to Oldupai Gorge. This site provides evidence of the earliest signs of mankind, showcasing hominid footprints preserved in volcanic rock that date back 3.6 million years.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater exploration and departure
Today descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a six hour tour. As the world’s largest caldera (nearly 100 square miles), Ngorongoro boasts over 20,000 large animals, including Tanzania’s remaining black rhino. Living along-side the abundance of wildlife you will find 40,000 Maasai pastoralists with their cattle, goats, and sheep. The conservation gives you a rare look into how people harmoniously lived with nature and wildlife in ancient times. You are dropped off at Arusha, Moshi, or the airport for your onward journey.
