Uganda Ranked Africa’s 6th Most Popular Destination for International Conferences
The international Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) has ranked Uganda, the 6th Africa’s most popular destination for international conferences. The Pearl of Africa does not only offer exception safari experiences but also a best pace to host intentional conferences. Ranking in the 6th position was a great improvement for Rwanda compared to the 10th position, the country achieved in 2018. For the last 5 years, Uganda has constantly advanced in its rankings for hosting International Conferences and Events. The ranking of the top destinations is based on the number of association meetings, which take place regularly in the country. These meetings and evens should rotate between at least three different countries attraction over 50 participants from different countries all over the world.
International Meetings Hosted in Uganda in 2019
Over 22 International Association Meetings were hosted in Uganda the Pearl of Africa. Uganda Tourism Board hosted all the meetings that included the 8th African Population Conference, the 64h Commonwealth Parliamentarians Conference, and the 2nd Congress of the African Primatological Dialogue, African Now Summit, and the 4th African Judicial Dialogue among others. These meetings attracted a large number of people from all over the world domestic, regional and international visitors, one of the reasons or the better ranking of Uganda among the top destinations for meetings and events.
Unfortunately, in 2020, most events that were to take place were cancelled and postponed due to Covid19 pandemic. Among the conferences that were canceled in 2020 include The CBR World Congress, African Climate Week, World Health Summit and G77 Summit among others. All these conferences have been rescheduled to unknown date in 2021 as the country continues o fight the deadly covid19.
