More about the 14 days Uganda-Rwanda safari
The 14 Days Uganda – Rwanda safari may begin from Kigali airport in Rwanda or Entebbe in Uganda. Uganda is that gem found in the heart of Africa. Sir Winston Churchill in his book, “My African Journey”, called Uganda the Pearl of Africa. He meant the beautiful wildlife, scenery and weather. The Murchison falls is the most powerful waterfall in the world where the world’s longest river squeezes in a 7 meter wide gorge before plunging 43 meters downstream forming a rainbow plume coupled with abundant wildlife including a plethora of migratory birds that seasonally transfer from as far as the Arctic Circle, Russia and Poland.
The park is home to various mammals including the Rothschild giraffes, pattas monkeys, buffaloes, elephants, hippos, crocodiles and different antelope species thus making this park the most visited in Uganda. Kibale forest national park, with 13 primate species, an important eco-tourism and safari destination has the highest concentration of primates and diversity in Africa. With the highest number of visitors in Uganda, Queen Elizabeth national park, popular for tree-climbing lions, also offers beautiful volcanic sceneries – volcanic cones and deep craters. Bwindi impenetrable national park, inscribed on the World Heritage List, and an important site for biodiversity, is home to approximately 500 gorilla individuals – the highest number of any park in the world.
Finally a combination of gorilla and golden monkeys tracking in Volcanoes national park in Rwanda would enhance the safari experience so far witnessed in Uganda. The five of the eight volcanoes in the Virunga Mountains including Karisimbi, Muhabura, Bisoke, Gahinga and Sabyinyo with the spectacular view of the Nyiragongo active volcano in DR Congo, offer the best scenery in Africa. Gorilla trekking activities in this park are the best organized. The park has some of the most magnificent lodges in Africa.
The major highlight of this safari package is gorilla tracking in Volcanoes or Bwindi national parks. Other activities include golden monkeys and chimpanzee tracking, game drives, birding, cultural performances, nature walks and any other adventure activity a visitor would choose to do.
