1 Day Rwanda Gorilla Tour – Trip details
Leave your hotel/lodge early in the morning and transfer to Volcanoes national park in the northwest of Rwanda. Assemble at the park headquarters where you will be briefed about how the gorilla trekking exercise is conducted in the park. At the same point, you will also be assigned a gorilla group to visit together with other trekkers. There are about 12 habituated gorilla groups in the park that are visited by trekkers everyday. Each gorilla group/family is visited by a group of 8 trekkers per day.
After the briefing, you will head into the forest looking for your assigned gorilla family led by park rangers and trackers. Upon reaching the gorillas, you will be permitted to spend one hour in their presence before departing. During this magical hour with the gorillas, you will be able to observe how they move, feed, play and rest. Visitors are also allowed to use their cameras to take pictures and videos of the gorillas but should be careful not to get too close to them. At the end of the hour, you will leave the forest to meet our guide who will take you back to your lodge/hotel or drop you at the airport for your departure flight.
